****The Research Histology, Pathology, and Imaging core (RHPI) will be officially merging with the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery (DVMS), located on the Houston campus effective December 01, 2021.  The RHPI will continue to accept iLabs requests for routine histology, immunohistochemistry, imaging and pathology through October 31, 2021.  We will no longer accept orders for new antibody development or immunofluorescence.  Large orders may not be accepted if they are unable to be completed within our limited time frame and will be redirected to DVMS.  DVMS link is as follows:

Overview of Services

The Science Park Research Histology, Pathology & Imaging Core provides investigators with expert imaging and experimental pathology support. Our staff consult with investigators to formulate an integrated imaging, pathology and histology protocol for each study, with the goal of assuring customized, efficient and comprehensive data collection.

Our facility provides investigators with both routine and specialized histology and immunohistochemistry services, including preparation of frozen sections and RNase-free sections, antibody validation, and immunohistochemistry protocol development. Our dedicated immunohistochemist has developed optimized protocols for over 300 antibodies for use on mouse, rat and xenograft tissues. The core also provides technical assistance, training and consultation on histologic techniques. The core employs five experienced histology technicians, three of whom are certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathology. Recent upgrades to the facility include an automated immunostainer and a new tissue processor.
