MDACC siRNA Core Facility

Overview of the Facility

The siRNA Core Facility at MD Anderson performs High Throughput and High Content siRNA screens to assist experimental cancer therapy studies. The core's ultimate goal is to develop relevant three-dimensional models that represent the human body and endeavor to find therapies effective at combating cancer.


The Core Facility offers Two-Dimensional and Three-Dimensional High Throughput Screens using the ThermoScientific Dharmacon siARRAY siRNA Collections for Gene Families Genome-Wide Library, Two-Dimensional monolayer and Three-Dimensional spheroid Drug Screens as well as embarking on CRISPR-CAS 9 High Throughput Screens with CAS-9 expressing immortalized host cells from various cancers.


Getting Started

All investigators interested in the services offered by the siRNA Core Facility must schedule and attend a preliminary consulatation meeting with our staff. During this meeting all essential details regarding the screen will be discussed including cell lines, assay design, standard operating procedure of a screen, timeline, cost and cell culture models.
