xx Pharmaceutical Science Facility (BNRC)

Mission

The mission of the Pharmaceutical Science Facility is to provide MD Anderson Investigators, and Texas Medical Center researchers, access to state-of-the-art bioanalytical support to advance their clinical and preclinical projects.

Focus

Small molecule quantification in biologic and non-biologic matrices (i.e. plasma, serum, whole blood, tissues, cell culture media, buffer solutions, aqueous and organic extracts).  

(Proteins and very large molecules refer to proteomics core)

  • Quantification of small molecules
  • PK and PD studies for preclinical & clinical studies
  • ADME studies such as drug microsomal/plasma stability, solubility, permeability, adsorption, distribution and elimination
  • Plasma protein binding studies.
  • Drug metabolite identification and quantification
  • Targeted metabolite quantification
  • Formulation R+D to support in-vivo studies
  • Analytical assay development for novel comounds
  • Characterization of natural products and active components
