Biospecimen and Translational Genomics Core

We offer service in Biobanking including subject consenting, phlebotomy. biospecimen processing/storage, and isolation of nucleic acides, Digital Pathology scanning with a Leica Aperio Versa 200 and real-time PCR analyses of DNA copy number and gene expression with a Bio-rad CFX96/384 Touch System and a QS200 Droplet Digital PCR system.

Flow Cytometry Shared Resource

The lab can sort all NIH-designated biohazard 2 agents. Core personnel are trained and certified in proper BSL-2 safety procedures. The lab has 1 cell sorters 16-parameter FACSAria-IIIu; and 4 cell analyzers: 64-detector Cytek Aurora Spectral analyzer, 13-parameter LSR-II, 14-parameter FACSCelesta.

Lab Animal Resources

DLAR provides husbandry, veterinary care and management of research colony animals plus technical support for experimental surgery, anesthesia & post-surgical care. The Veterinary staff provides consultation, collaboration and assistance with animal model and written protocol development.

Mass Spectrometry Core Lab

The lab has multiple modern mass spectrometers. Protein analysis services include molecular mass determination, protein identification, sequence and post-translational modification site characterization. Quantitative analysis of lipids and intermediary metabolites by GC/MS is also available.

Optical Imaging Facility

Broad spectrum of modern optical imaging systems: confocal/multiphoton microscopy, wide-field microscopy, fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy, fluorescence spectral imaging, super-resolution and whole-animal imaging. High-temporal resolution imaging of rapid events in living cells is available.

Rodent Genome Engineering Core

We offer services to generate knockout/knock-in mouse lines by CRISPR genome editing in mouse zygotes, including designing, on/off-targeting mutagenesis genotyping services; as well as cryopreservation of mouse embryos/sperm, rederivation, IVF, and mouse colony expansion.

Structural Biology Core

State-of-the-art Bruker spectrometers equipped with high sensitivity cryoprobes operating at 500, 600, and 700 MHz. The instruments provide full capabilities for modern NMR experiments with 15N, 13C, and 2H labeled macromolecules and are suitable for obtaining three-dimensional solution structures.
